JOSEPH PARK

Joseph Y. Park is a Senior Attorney in the firm’s Santa Rosa, San Francisco, Oakland, and Lodi offices. He brings more than 20 years of experience in litigation, administrative law, and regulatory practice, with an extensive background in federal service.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Park served as a trial attorney with the Immigration and Naturalization Service within the U.S. Department of Justice, and later for Immigration and Customs Enforcement under the Department of Homeland Security. In these roles, he prosecuted cases involving serious criminal misconduct, human rights violations, and national security matters. He also spent several years in management, supervising attorneys in the Office of the Chief Counsel.

Mr. Park subsequently served for eight years as an Immigration Judge in the San Francisco Immigration Court, where he presided over removal proceedings. His judicial experience includes adjudicating matters involving bond determinations, mental competency, juvenile respondents, and complex applications for relief from removal, most commonly asylum.

Mr. Park earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American History from Amherst College.

Mr. Park enjoys mountain biking (preferably without crashing) and weightlifting. He is a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Warriors. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, their two daughters, an ill-behaved dog, and a truly unfriendly cat.
