MEGAN UPSHAW, J.D.

Ms. Upshaw joined Wintersteen | Casarez, APLC as its first intern in 2020 when the firm first opened its doors. She then trained and worked as a legal assistant with the firm for the years following while attending law school. Her familiarity and experience in working in workers’ compensation provides her with a comprehensive understanding of the claims process from inception through resolution, allowing her to effectively advocate for clients with both practical insight and sound legal analysis.

Ms. Upshaw earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Vanguard University of Southern California. She then received her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law in May of 2025. Ms. Upshaw clerked for the McGeorge Elder Law and Health Legal Clinic for where she gained valuable experience in legal drafting, client relations, legal research, and became a recipient of the Melissa C. Brown Legal Clinic Honors award.

Outside of work, Ms. Upshaw enjoys spending time with her fiancée Jordan, family, friends, and her dogs, Nova, Owen, and Luna. She also enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling and is always excited to try something new.
