Ms. Knox has been practicing workers’ compensation defense in the Chico and Redding areas since 2017. She is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Redding office, and defends insurance carriers, third party administrators and self-insured employers.

Ms. Knox has a collaborative approach in the defense of claims, working diligently with each client to formulate a strategy that focuses on the potential for early settlement, but also creates opportunities for claim resolution at multiple stages throughout the litigation. Ms. Knox has primarily worked in the remote northern California venues of Eureka and Redding and has a unique understanding of the challenges clients face in the handling of claims north of Sacramento, including the scarcity of Primary Treating Physicians. The old adage of “It’s Not What You Know, It’s Who You Know” rings true in this part of California and Ms. Knox’s clients benefit from her longstanding professional relationships with the judges and applicant attorneys.

Ms. Knox was awarded a full scholarship to Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, being admitted as a Claire Sherwood Memorial Scholar. This scholarship is offered to the top 1% of applicants who exhibit outstanding achievement in academics and leadership. Ms. Knox went on to self-finance her law school education by working full-time at a Sacramento law firm while attending McGeorge’s night school program. While attending McGeorge, she received the AmJur Award in Legal Writing. She has been a member of the California State Bar for over 20 years, initially working in the civil law arena defending subcontractors in Construction Defect litigation deemed complex by the Court. During this time, she served on both the Board and Executive Board for Women Lawyers of Sacramento.

Outside of work, Ms. Knox enjoys spending time with her close-knit family playing board games and card games. She also enjoys watching documentaries as she considers herself a life-long learner. She has a special place in her heart for adopting senior and/or hard-to-place dogs or cats and currently has a 15-year-old Ragdoll cat who needed a home when his owner had to move into an assisted living facility.
